Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility
As Mercan Hotel, we adopt a business approach that is sensitive to nature and the environment. Within the scope of the Sustainable Tourism Certificate Program initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, we have successfully completed our first stage certificate. This process is just the beginning of our sustainability efforts.
Taking into account the infrastructure conditions of our region (such as the lack of natural gas and sewerage), we use solar energy systems for our energy needs and apply septic tank solutions in waste management. We regularly measure and control our electricity usage and conduct research for improvements in energy efficiency and thermal insulation.
We take care to provide first-hand products from local manufacturers and regional suppliers in our restaurant and the products we offer to our guests. Jul. Thus, we reduce our carbon footprint in the supply chain and support the local economy.
As Mercan Hotel, we will carry our sustainability journey further in the future; we will continue to expand our practices that take care of nature, the environment and society. The contribution and support of our guests to this process is a great source of motivation for us.
